ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR PRINCIPAL

Congratulations Ildiko

Councillor Jim Hamilton Mayor of Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council presented an Achievement Award to Miss Ildiko Veres for her dedicated work in teaching children with cerebral palsy at the Buddy Bear Trust Conductive Education School.

Mrs Ceara Kerr watches as baby Ella is taught that learning can be fun.

Miss Veres is teaching Ella how to grip while her Mum encourages her.

Ella is part of the Mother and Baby Group at the Buddy Bear School.

Early intervention is essential. Children with cerebral palsy have to learn how to over come the challenges as soon as possible.

Councillor Francie Molloy MLA and Deputy Speaker with Councillor Jim Hamilton, Mayor congratulate Miss Veres on being presented with an Achievement Award for her dedicated service as Principal of the Buddy Bear Trust School.

Mr Stanley Anthony supporter of Buddy Bear and Brendan Mc Conville, Chairman are delighted at the Award presented to Miss Veres.

Miss Veres has been Principal of the Buddy Bear School since it first opened in 1993.

The School regularly receives good inspection reports from the Department of Education.

Both Dr Ian Paisley and Mr Martin Mc Guinness, First and Deputy First Ministers have pledged their support for Buddy Bear.

Miss Veres tries to enrich Demi Lee's world by giving her the confidence to touch, feel, smell and experience a wide variety of objects which we take for granted.

Demi Lee who suffers from cerebral palsy has to learn about the outside world as she is visually impaired.

Demi Lee has gained the confidence to accept guidance from Ildiko her Conductor and teacher as she begins the process of learning to walk.

Children with cerebral palsy have to face the challenges presented by it every day. Children at the Peto Institute in Budapest have achieved great results.

Thankfully we have Peto Conductive Education in the Buddy Bear School in Dungannon.

It is work like this which has earned Ildiko the Achievement Award.

Dennis Taylor, World Snooker Champion and long time supporter of the Buddy Bear Trust reminded Miss Veres that he too had signed the Triangle of Hope Photograph taken in Dungannon.

Dennis wanted to know had Dr Paisley and the late Pope John Paul II signed the Triangle of Hope before or after him.

Dennis was delighted to learn that Mr Martin Mc Guinness had now signed the photograph.

Dennis congratulated Miss Veres on her excellent work and promised to visit the Buddy Bear School the next time he was in Dungannon.

"I am delighted to have been able to help even one child to have a better and brighter future"

The Editor of the Tyrone Courrier was happy to join Dennis and friends in congratulating Miss Veres on receiving her Achievement Award.

The Tyrone Courrier like the other local papers is to be congratulated on promoting the Buddy Bear Trust Independent School.

Without the support of the Editors, Reporters and Photographers, Parents would not know about the school which is a recognised charity established to educate children with cerebral palsy.
