Ladies Decide on the Bear Necessity for Deep River Rock Belfast City Marathon

Five ladies from across Ulster are running to the help of the Buddy Bear Trust School in Dungannon by entering a relay team in this year’s Belfast City Marathon.

Three of the runners met up with one of the families who benefit from attending Northern Ireland’s only Conductive Education School along with Brendan McConville chairman of the trust, and Ildiko Veres Principal Conductor.

In the photograph is Caleb Kerr from Portadown, with his mum Heather and dad Nigel, Caleb has been taught to walk at the Buddy Bear School and would love to be able to run like other children.

Hopefully with the help of our marathon runners and other volunteers who support the school, Caleb may one day be completely independent like many past pupils of this unique special school, one of whom Daniel Murphy, has competed for Ireland in swimming at the Special Olympics winning silver medal.

The team who include Sarah Stevens, Bridge Byrne and Siobhan Magee can be supported on our http://www.justgiving.com/buddybeartrust.

Our Buddy Bear Children can’t run but you can help them by running for our charity or by supporting those who are.

Sponsorship forms may be obtained by contacting Buddy Bear Trust School in Dungannon
