Our latest marathon champion delighted to help his new Buddy

Glasgow born, James Gallagher (27) has always had a keen interest in sport, brought up in Donegal he has played football for Ulster and represented his school in both basketball and cross country running.

Speaking with Buddy Bear Trust School Chairman, Brendan McConville, James’ explained “I always like to challenge myself and a marathon was always something that I wanted to do and this year I decided to do it”.

“Once I registered for the Deep RiverRock Belfast marathon the next thing was to decide what charity I would run for. The reason I chose Buddy Bear Trust School was because a friend of mine would have a close connection to it and from learning and understanding what the charity does for the children involved it wasn’t hard for me to run the marathon for Buddy Bear”.

“Also, I love children so that is more than enough motivation for me to do this, I hope to raise as much money as possible and make a small difference to an already fantastic charity.”

Our Buddy Bear Children can’t run but you can help them by running for our charity or by supporting those who are.
